And in the beginning there was a Peter

Well, I have finally decided that wasting money on rent every month is a bit of a drag and that a monthly mortgage payments sounds even more horrible. So I have decided to build a tiny home within the next year.

First, as a quick overview. I'm looking to build a tiny home of around 200 sq. ft. for under $8,000. I will be chipping in most of the money myself but I have also set up a fundly account that is accepting donations (https://fundly.com/peter-and-the-tiny-house#).

Secondly, I will also be actively seeking corporate sponsorship and discounts on the materials I need.

Third, I will be using green techniques in my house that will seek to help the environment, and reduce my costs. I will be making my own insulation (so start saving your newspaper), I'll be using as much reclaimed wood as possible, and I will recycle any other usable parts I come across.

Fourth, the to big things I need off the bat are a place in Baton Rouge to build and a 20 - 24 foot long trailer. If you have one of these I will love you forever!

Fifth, I want to hear your feedback. If you hear of a cool new idea that I could incorporate into my home as I build it from scratch, let me know, it may just show up!

So, remember to check up on my progress here, or on my FB fan page (https://www.facebook.com/PeterandtheTinyHouse) and if you can, make a small donation here (https://fundly.com/peter-and-the-tiny-house#).
